Monday’s Inspiration

Pinned Image

Isn’t this picture so simple yet extraordinary at the same time? I find its beauty to be in its simplicity.

This reminds me that sometimes as teachers we get caught up in wanting to create the most creative and exciting lessons that we forget that some of the best lessons are the simplest ones.

candy barTake today for example… I taught my students the concept of buoyancy with 3 bite size pieces of chocolate, water, and clear cups. It took me seconds to set up and I had all of the materials on hand. The best part was that the students loved the experiment and started wondering if other candy bars would sink or float. The amount of discussion and thinking going on as a result of this simple experiment made me realize that simple can be GOOD!

What simple lesson have you taught that has really impacted your students?
