this precious Viszla pup, Jeter! He was the surprise I mentioned a few weeks ago. He is the newest member of our family and has been keeping us all quite busy! I am in LOVE…Who could resist him?
…getting back to business!
Here’s a short recap of what we’ve been working on in class:
Math- (Introducing Division) We completed this organizer similar to the multiplication organizer we used a few weeks ago. We were working on showing 5 ways to demonstrate division. This sheet has been GREAT in helping my students SEE how division is not simply a problem with the division symbol in it. (Click the picture to download the Division organizer for FREE)
Reading- We’ve been working on understanding the concept of Main Idea and Details. I explained this concept by comparing it to a table. Without the legs, the table would fall down… just like a Main Idea needs its Supporting Details to help it stand up. (Click on the picture to download your own copy of the Main Idea- Details Table)
Science- We have spent the past 2 weeks learning all about ENERGY by using my Energy Unit. We have made Flap Books:
Conducted experiments:
Learned new vocabulary words:
It has been quite an exciting unit to teach! :0) My favorite activity has to be the experiment on Static Electricity that we conducted with balloons. It is amazing what a balloon will do with just a little bit of static electricity.
Has your class carried out any neat experiments lately? I’m always looking for a new experiment to try out… any ideas?
XOXO,
Looks like you've been very busy!
